ABIA – Governor Alex Otti has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a morally grounded and economically vibrant state.
Governor Otti who disclosed this at the First Baptist Church, 273/275 Clifford Road by East Aba, during this year’s Baptist Day Celebration of the church, stressed that genuine development must be anchored on integrity, service and the fear of God.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, commended the Baptist family for its longstanding tradition of nurturing sound values and contributing to the social and spiritual stability of the state, noting that its structured leadership and strong community influence have continued to play a vital role in shaping responsible citizenship across generations.
The State Chief Executive highlighted that faith-based institutions remain critical partners in the ongoing efforts to entrench good governance, enhance social cohesion and promote progressive reforms across the state, and assured that his administration will continue to collaborate with religious organisations to strengthen critical sectors.
In his goodwill message, the Member representing Aba Central State Constituency, Mr Akachukwu Ucheonye, lauded Governor Otti for his visionary leadership and the visible infrastructural and governance reforms taking shape across the state especially in Aba, and commended the Baptist community for its unwavering contributions to peace, civic responsibility and youth mentorship.
In a homily, the Rev. Dr Okechukwu Nwachukwu, warned all against abusing the blessings and grace of God upon their lives and enjoined them to focus more on living righteously in order to gain eternity.
Delivering his keynote address, the Moderator, Aba Baptist Association, Pastor Everest Iheanacho, while acknowledging the Aba Baptist Association as the apex governing body of the Baptist denomination in Aba, applauded Governor Otti for his monumental achievements across the state, and solicited governments support towards getting the certificate of occupancy for the properties intended for their Secretariat and Baptist Academy.
The event which featured prayers for the state, also attracted the presence of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Religious Affairs, Apostle Kenneth Wiper, his Arts, Culture and Creative Economy counterpart, Mrs Matilda Anyamele among other distinguished personalities.
