ABIA – Governor Dr Alex Otti has stated that his government will continue to secure the lives and properties of Abians and its residents no matter their locations.

Governor Otti who gave the assurance while welcoming the newly deployed General Officer Commanding 82 Division Enugu of Nigerian Army, Major General Oluremi Fadairo, who was on a familiarization tour to the state, assured the GOC of full cooperation and sustained investments in security.
The State Governor noted that his administration constantly reviews its security architecture and adjusts strategies to ensure that residents live and work safely adding that no meaningful development would take place in the absence of adequate security. He noted that the GOC was free to inspect all military formations in the State and requested early communication on any additional support needed from the State Government.
Speaking, the newly deployed General Officer Commanding 82 Division Enugu of the Nigerian Army, Major General Oluremi Fadairo, pledged to deploy his expertise to arrest insecurity across Abia and the South-East Geo-political zone.
Major General Fadairo who is also the Commander of South East Joint Task Force codenamed “Operation Udoka”, promised to utilize his wealth of experience to support the renewed drive against insecurity in the State and the South East Geopolitical Zone having served in the state as a young Officer.
He called for stronger synergy among Security Agencies and active involvement of Communities in security efforts, noting that no criminal element could outsmart a united security architecture strengthened by public cooperation and inter-agency synergy.
He thanked Governor Otti for his administration’s support to Security Agencies and promised improved performance under his leadership.
Various security Chiefs in the state and members of the state executive council including the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba were present during the visit.
