ABIA – Governor Alex Otti has condoled with the Anyanwu family of Umuawala, Abayi Isingwa in Isiala Ngwa North LGA over the death of their matriarch, Ezinne Peninah Ugbonma Anyanwu.

In his condolence message during a funeral service conducted by the St. Thomas Anglican Church, Abayi Parish, Governor Otti described the death of a loved one especially that of a mother as truly painful.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, while describing the deceased as a woman whose life reflected the finest virtues of motherhood, faith, dignity and service, noted that she lived with quiet strength, raised responsible children, contributed positively to her community and upheld the values that make families and societies strong.

The State Chief Executive further enjoined the bereaved family to be strong and courageous and take solace in the fact that their late mother impacted lives positively.

In a homily, the Anglican Bishop of Isiala Ngwa, the Rt. Rev. Temple Nwaogu, stressed the need for all to live righteously and make good use of their time while on earth, pointing out that a day is coming when all mortals will give account of their stewardship while alive.

Ezinne Anyanwu Laid to Rest Amid Tears and Eulogies

In his tribute, the Chief mourner, Chief Alwell Anyanwu, described his late mother as an epitome of beauty, loving, kind and a God fearing woman who devoted her life to the service of God and humanity. He thanked Governor Otti, friends and the church for coming to identify with his family during their moment of grief.

Aged 87, Late Ezinne Peninah Ugonma Anyanwu is survived by children, grandchildren and a host of other relations.

The Member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency, Chief Collins Iheonunekwu, Mayor of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Ambassador Innocent Uruakpa, Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Mr Matthew Ekwuribe, SSA to the Governor on Cooperatives, Hon. Ishmael Onuoha among other distinguished personalities were present during the funeral service.
