The Abia State Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hon. Matthew Ekwuribe, has officially endorsed the forthcoming Isuikwuato Nwanneukwu Cultural Festival 2025, describing it as a vital platform for preserving cultural heritage and promoting unity among the people.

Hon. Ekwuribe gave the endorsement while receiving a delegation led by the President General of the Isuikwuato Development Union (IDU) National, Chidiebere Uguru, JP, in his office along Secretariat Road, Umuahia. He reaffirmed his total support for the historic cultural celebration scheduled to hold from 23rd to 24th December 2025 at the Isuikwuato High School Football Field.
The Commissioner noted that the Nwanneukwu Cultural Festival aligns with the Abia State Government’s vision of using culture and creativity as tools for social cohesion, tourism development, and economic growth. He emphasized that such festivals provide opportunities to showcase the rich traditions of the people while also attracting visitors and investors to the state.
Hon. Ekwuribe further commended Governor Alex Otti, OFR, for his unwavering commitment to the revival and promotion of cultural heritage across Abia State, describing the governor’s support for arts and culture as deliberate and people-focused.
He also thanked the Isuikwuato Development Union for its consistency in promoting unity and cultural identity, noting that cultural festivals like Nwanneukwu symbolize brotherhood, togetherness, and the continuity of ancestral values. He expressed pride in serving as the Chairman of the Occasion for the 2025 festival.
In his remarks, the leader of the delegation and President General of IDU National, Chidiebere Uguru, JP, presented the official festival fabric, invitation card, and an updated progress report to the Commissioner. He explained that the presentation was part of ongoing efforts to ensure a well-organized and memorable celebration of Isuikwuato’s rich cultural heritage.
According to him, the Nwanneukwu Cultural Festival is designed to unite Isuikwuato sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora while promoting peace, cultural pride, and intergenerational bonding.
Uguru disclosed that the 2025 edition is expected to be the biggest cultural gathering in Isuikwuato in recent years, featuring traditional dances, age-grade presentations, masquerade exhibitions, cultural lectures, arts and crafts displays, and a grand reception in honour of illustrious sons and daughters of the area.
The IDU President General also commended Governor Alex Otti for his unwavering commitment to good governance and cultural inclusiveness, describing him as a pillar of unity and a global ambassador of Isuikwuato culture.
The delegation expressed optimism that with the endorsement and support of the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, the 2025 Isuikwuato Nwanneukwu Cultural Festival will set a new standard in cultural celebration and community engagement in Abia State.
