ABIA – Governor Alex Otti says his administration will officially flag-off the reconstruction of the Enyimba Hotel Aba into a-5 star International Hotel on the 25th of February, 2026.

The Governor also announced that the newly reconstructed Ovom Street road will equally be Commissioned by his administration on the same 25th of February.

Governor Otti who was speaking at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba during a Grand Civic Reception held in his honour by the 9 LGA’s of the Ukwa La Ngwa people, noted that the reconstruction project which commenced last year December is being handled by the Radisson Blu.

The Governor who noted that the company has been given a short delivery timeline, said that the 5-star Enyimba International Hotel with convention and leisure centers is expected to commence operation by next year.

He used the forum to call on the people of Ukwa La Ngwa to mobilize their people who are yet to obtain their permanent voter cards to get registered as to fully showcase their real voting strength in future elections.

Governor Otti equally urged them to assume the position of Chief security officers of their neighborhood and protect infrastructure and other facilities put in place by government in their areas as well as maintain a clean and healthy environment.

The State Chief Executive thanked the Ukwa La Ngwa people for the reception which signifies their level of love and acceptability for him and for also mapping out huge amount for the purchasing of form for his reelection.

Speaking on behalf of stakeholders of the 9 LGA’s of the Ukwa La Ngwa people, the Senator representing Abia South Senatorial zone, Chief Enyinnaya Abaribe noted that Governor Otti has changed the narratives in all facets, deserving the support of all.

Also speaking, the National Secretary of Labour Party, Senator Darlington Nwokocha and the Speaker of Abia House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, said that the event is an expression of love and general acceptance of the Governor, noting that the Governor has by all means redefined Governance.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Occasion, Senator Adolphus Wabara, described the reception of the Ukwa La Ngwa people as a united, non-partisan and the people’s verdict in honour of the Governor whose performance is built on verifiable achievements rather than propaganda.

He stated that the mammoth crowd was organic, spontaneous and genuine, a demonstration of love from the people who have seen and felt the dividends of purposeful leadership, noting that the visible transformation across the state including the timely completion of Port Harcourt Road Aba has permanently silenced the Governor’s detractors.

In his speech, the leader and Spokesperson of the Ukwa La Ngwa people, Chief Theo Nkire, said that the event is a celebration of a great achiever of the Ukwa Ngwa nation, Dr Alex Otti, who has within the shortest possible time revolutionized all sectors of the people’s lives including transforming Aba from a small importer town to a world class industrial hub.

He appealed to the rest of Abians to see the Ngwa man from the positive angle, adding that the story of the Ukwa Ngwa nation is that of courage, determination, success and achievements as represented by Governor Alex Otti.

In a vote of thanks, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, commended Governor Alex Otti for what he described as remarkable achievements within his 32 months in office, portraying him as a divinely prepared leader sent to redeem Abia State from 24 years of decay.

He recalled the poor state of affairs before Governor Otti assumed office in 2023 and noted that in less than 33 months, the state has been repositioned on a fast track of sustainable development.

Pastor Ajagba assured Governor Otti of the unwavering support of the Ukwa La Ngwa people, emphasizing that the massive turnout at the event reflected their gratitude for the numerous transformational projects across the zone. He urged the Governor to remain focused and disregard what he termed the distractions from a few opposition voices, while also appreciating him for honoring their invitation despite his busy schedule.

Highlights of the event was the formal endorsement of Governor Otti for reelection by the Ukwa la Ngwa Steering Committee, led by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, wherein the committee announced one hundred million Naira in support of the Governor’s reelection and royal blessings on the Governor by the traditional rulers from Ukwa La Ngwa bloc.
