ABIA – Over 180 youths have benefited from the Free JAMB registration and Bursary Disbursement courtesy of the Chief of Staff to Abia State Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba.

Speaking at his Umuezegu Nsulu countryhome in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, during the free Jamb registration and Bursary disbursement to selected successful candidates, Pastor Ajagba reiterated his commitment to empowering young people through education.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor disclosed that the initiative which is borne out of a deep desire to create opportunities for deserving youths, aims at helping young people reshape their future through access to education, and commended Governor Alex Otti for the wide range of youth empowerment programmes in the State, including the Abia Leadership Academy and TechRise which clearly demonstrates his administration’s commitment to equipping youths with leadership skills, digital expertise and entrepreneurial capacity for sustainable development.

Pastor Ajagba who identified education as the shortest and most credible path to a secure future, reminded them that many leaders in government today will not have attained their positions without the privilege of formal education, adding that the initiative is strictly for those who genuinely lack the financial means to access such opportunities.

He further hinted at plans to extend the empowerment to youths in vocational training, business and other skill-based ventures, and expressed optimism that the initiative will produce graduates and millionaires across communities in the state while encouraging the beneficiaries to remain focused on their studies, as any misuse of the opportunity would lead to withdrawal of the support.

In a vote of thanks, some of the beneficiaries of the free JAMB registration and bursary disbursement initiative, including Martins Jacob, Amajuoyi Chinaemenma, Favour Nmesomachi, Dickson Success, Gift Onwughara among others, expressed appreciation to the sponsor and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, for what they described as a rare and life-changing gesture.

They noted that the intervention will significantly ease the financial burden on their parents and guardians, especially in meeting pressing educational needs and pledged to remain focused on their studies, excel in their examinations as well as make him proud through outstanding performance and responsible conduct.
