ABIA – The Vice Chancellor of Amadeus University, Prof. Samuel Nzotta, says, the University has commenced the process of implementing its five year strategic plan that ensures that detailed action plans evolved are fully implemented during the strategic planning period.

Prof. Nzotta who stated this during a press conference at the University campus headquarters, Amizi in Ikwuano LGA, as parts of activities to mark the second matriculation ceremony of the University slated to hold on Saturday this week, disclosed that the focus is to ensure that the institution produces visionary, skilled and globally competitive graduates.

The Vice Chancellor explained that the essence of the press conference is to intimate the public on the important developments in the University, the milestones attained since its last matriculation in February last year, adding that the matriculating students were admitted into the 22 National Universities Commission (NUC) approved programmes of the University under five faculties.

He highlighted some of the strategic actions taken by the University to ensure that their programmes continues to meet global standards and the employability of their graduates to include, Programme Curriculum Development, Quality Assurance Standards, Research Processes and Outcomes, Accreditation and Resource Verification, and announced that NUC has given Amadeus University authorization for the commencement of Medicine and Surgery, Law and Pharmacy programmes effective from the 2025/2026 session.

Prof. Nzotta further disclosed that the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria NMCN Abuja, after their Advisory Visit to the citadel of learning in October last year, also granted them approval to run Nursing programme in the institution, adding that the university has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia, Abia State Specialist Hospital and Diagnostic Centre, Topfaith University Mkpatak among others for Hospital based clinical training of MBBS, Nursing science, Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy and Public Health students.

The Vice Chancellor also appreciated the founder and Chairman, Board of Trustee of Amadeus University, Dr Godwin Nwabunka for the massive support provided to the university management as well as for his visionary leadership since the inception of the institution.

In their speeches, the Registar of the University, Mr Ernest Onuoha and the school Librarian, Prof. Ngozi Ukachi, described Amadeus University as a fast-growing institution committed to academic excellence, discipline and character formation.

They noted that the school has continued to invest in modern administrative systems and a well-equipped library with up-to-date physical and digital resources to support teaching, learning and research.

In a vote of thanks, the Co-chairman, University Publicity Committee of Amadeus University, Sir Anyaso Anyaso, expressed profound appreciation to members of the press for honouring the institution’s invitation and for their continued partnership in projecting the University’s vision and achievements.

He reaffirmed the management’s commitment to transparency, academic excellence and sustained engagement with critical stakeholders, noting that the support of the media remains invaluable in showcasing the strides being recorded by the fast-growing institution.

The Bursar of Amadeus University, Mr Augustine Ugorji was present during the press conference while the journalists were later conducted round the school facilities by the Team Lead, Welcome/Information Centre of the school, Nella Francis and Sir Anyaso Anyaso.
