ABIA – The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Prof. Uche Eme Uche, has charged undergraduates to remain focused on their academic pursuits, uphold discipline and moral integrity and take full advantage of the opportunities provided by higher education to become responsible leaders and contributors to national development.

Prof. Uche who gave the charge at Amadeus University, Amizi in Ikwuano Local Government Area during the second matriculation ceremony of the institution, stressed the need for students to embrace hard work, innovation and character formation as essential pillars for academic excellence and future success.
The Commissioner represented by Mrs Cindy Ogbonna, while noting the commitment of the Dr. Alex Otti-led administration towards improving educational standards and expanding access to quality tertiary education in the State, lauded the Founder and Chairman, Board of Trustees of Amadeus University, Dr. Godwin Nwabunka, for his visionary leadership, investment in human capital development and urged the students to justify the confidence reposed in them by their parents and the university authorities through diligence and exemplary conduct.
In their separate speeches, the Founder and Chairman, Board of Trustees of Amadeus University, Dr. Godwin Nwabunka, his Topfaith University, Mkpatak, Akwa Ibom State counterpart, Dr. Emmanuel Abraham and the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Abia State University Uturu, Prof. Mrs Roseline Ndimele, emphasized the importance of quality education, mentorship and value-driven learning in shaping globally competitive graduates. They encouraged the students to remain committed to academic excellence, innovation and ethical leadership, while commending the management of the university for its rapid growth and commitment to maintaining high academic standards.
In his address, the Vice Chancellor of Amadeus University, Prof. Samuel Nzotta, congratulated the matriculating students on their successful admission into the University and urged them to be worthy ambassadors of the institution at all times.
Prof. Nzotta disclosed that the matriculating students were admitted into the 22 National Universities Commission (NUC) approved programmes of the University across five faculties, announcing that the NUC has granted Amadeus University authorization to commence Medicine and Surgery, Law and Pharmacy programmes, while the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) has also approved the University to run a Nursing programme effective from the 2025/2026 academic session.
In an interview, some of the matriculating students, including Onyinye Anaeto, Ugochukwu Okorie, Favour Emmanuel and Chizaram Eluagu, appreciated the University management and their parents for the opportunity to pursue higher education and pledged to remain dedicated to their studies and work hard toward achieving their academic and career aspirations.
Highpoint of the second matriculation ceremony, which featured goodwill messages from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and representatives of other tertiary institutions, was the administration of the matriculation oath on the matriculating students by the University Registrar, Mr. Ernest Onuoha.
