Reports reaching our news desk says the Contractor handling the reconstruction of the Osisioma Ngwa Junction-Osisioma NNPC Depots -Ekeakpara road has re-commenced work on casting of about six inches Cement Pavement Technology on the road to contain the heavy duty trucks plying the road.

Our Aba news crew who monitored the progress of work on the road reports that the Contractor has completed the casting from Osisioma Ngwa Junction close to the LGA headquarters with the scraping and sand filling of the road from Osisioma Ngwa Local Government down to the NNPC depots.

According to the report, the Contractor handling the project has done appreciable work on the reconstruction of big drains linking Aba Port Harcourt Express Way and Osisioma Ngwa Junction-Osisioma NNPC Depots-Ekeakpara Road.

In an interview, the chairman of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Aba Branch, Mazi Oliver Okolo, thanked the contractor handling the road project for recommencing work on the road linking the moribund Osisioma Ngwa NNPC Depots which he said has forced more than two thousand South Easterners out of their various jobs.

Mazi Okolo eulogized Governor Otti for awarding the road contract for the rehabilitation of the moribund Osisioma Ngwa NNPC depots by the federal government and regretted that the age long deplorable Osisioma Ngwa Junction-Osisioma NNPC Depots-Ekeakpara road has crippled business activities in the area.

He appealed to the commercial transporters to take advantage of the reduction in the pump price of fuel to equally reduce their transportation fares to make things easier for the people noting that when the road and Osisioma Ngwa NNPC depots are fully rehabilitated, it will force down the price of the Petroleum products.

Also, a member of the National Executive Council of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Chief Godfrey Chukwunyere thanked the Governor, Dr. Alex Otti for his foresight in awarding the long deplorable Osisioma Junction-Osisioma Ngwa, NNPC depots-Ekeakpara Road to help revive business activities along the area.

Chief Chukwunyere while urging the Contractor handling the project to speed up work on the road however appealed to the State Governor to transform the popular Ekeakpara market into a modern market of International Standard to help boost the revenue of the state.
