The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu has reaffirmed government’s commitment towards providing accessible, affordable as well as quality health care service in the State.

Engr. Emetu stated this during a One Day Stakeholder’s Engagement Meeting on Impact Contribution to the Health Sector 2025 Derivables by the State lmpact Project Implementation Unit in collaboration with the Primary Health care Development Agency at Aguiyi Ironsi Conference Hall, Umuahia.
The Deputy Governor who was represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Chijioke Nwankwo, said that the state government has achieved a remarkable improvement in the health sector through the provision of sustainable developments in healthcare services across the state in partnership with notable Stakeholders especially the World Health Organization (WHO).
He charged the contractors handling the projects in the seventeen Local Government Area across the state, to deliver their services in accordance with the terms of contract noting that government will not hesitate to take action on non-compliance to standard.
In her speech earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Ifeyinwa Uma Kalu, while enumerating the positive impacts of Dr. Otti‘s administration in the health sector also promised to provide necessary support in order to ensure adequate health care delivery system in the state.
In his presentation, the State Coordinator of WHO, Dr Jubril Alkasim, explained that the project which aims at reviewing activities to maximize the benefits of the project‘s universal coverage noted that the program has improved the indices of the state health care system.
