The Abia State Government has reassured that the best will be selected on merit in the ongoing teachers’ recruitment exercise.

Abia State Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu who disclosed this while featuring on a BCA Radio Programme ‘’Executive Brief’’ said the exercise remains transparent and merit-based as the most qualified applicants will be employed.

Prince Kanu noted that more than seventeen thousand applications have been received, pointing out that more teachers will be employed as school enrollment increases.

On the recent Retreat organized by the State Government for all government appointees, the Information Boss said the Retreat was to brainstorm to know how the State has fared and to chart the way forward.

He revealed that the retreat will help all government appointees focus on their jobs and to work as a team in line with the vision of Governor Alex Otti to achieve the desired goals and made it known that the Governor’s presence at the retreat was a morale booster for all the participants.
