The Board and Management of Excellent Intellectual Schools Aba, have called on parents/guardians of Igbo extraction to instill the customs and traditions of Igbo land in their children.

The Proprietor of the school, Mrs Miracle Nwokocha who made the call in Aba during the first edition of the 2025 Festival of African Colours FOAC, organized by her school, reminded parents that they have a pivotal role to play in ensuring that their traditions are passed down to future generations.
Mrs Nwokocha while describing the home as the primary environment where cultural values are nurtured, urged parents to incorporate Igbo language into their daily conversations at home and encourage their children to practice it regularly.
In his address, the Board Chairman, Excellent Intellectual Schools Aba, Mr Chinedu Nwokocha, while describing language as a vital carrier of cultural values and knowledge, expressed worry over the declining use of Igbo language especially among youths, pointing out that its eroding can lead to a significant loss of heritage.
In his welcome address, the Chairman on the occasion, Mr Emmanuel Nwabueze thanked the school management for organizing the event, adding that the annual program will continue to serve as a reminder on the collective responsibility to preserve and celebrate Igbo culture.
In an interview, some of the teachers in the school including Charity Charles, Vivian Onwumelu and Great Peters, stressed the need to teach children to speak and understand their native tongue, and recommended utilizing available resources including the Igbo language classes and cultural programs to support the learning process.
Also speaking, some of the students including Jayna Ani, Victor Marcelo, Onyinyechi Ezenwa and Mary Dele promised to imbibe the rich traditions and language of the Igbo people.
The event which attracted distinguished personalities also featured drama, tribal dance, presentations among others.
