It was a grand display of culture and tradition at Umuosocha Umuokeh Autonomous Community in Obowo LGA of Imo State as Eze Charles Chiedozie Obasi and his people gathered to celebrate the 2025 Mbomuzo Festival of the community.

Umuosocha Umuokeh Community Celebrates 2025 Mbomuzo Festival in Grandstyle

Declaring the festival open at Eke Umuosocha Umuokeh Square, the Traditional Ruler of the community, Eze Charles Chiedozie Obasi, described the festival as a time when the people clear all road paths and receive their in-laws, friends, and well-wishers who come to celebrate with them.

Eze Obasi revealed that his vision is to see the overall development of the Umuosocha Umuokeh community and to ensure they receive all benefits due to them from the government.

The royal father urged the people of Umuosocha Umuokeh to celebrate in peace, be their brother’s keeper, and resolve any disputes amicably. He also prayed for God’s continued blessings on all sons and daughters of the community.

In their speeches, the Chairman of the Umuosocha Council of Chiefs, Chief Onyemachi Nwaiwu, and the Chairman of the 2025 Mbomuzo Festival Planning Committee, Chief Hillary Okonkwo, expressed gratitude to God for being alive to witness the age-long festival.

They also thanked Eze Charles Obasi for being a special gift to the community and appreciated the people of Umuosocha Umuokeh for turning out in large numbers to celebrate.

Contributing, the Leader of the Umuosocha Women Assembly, Lady Dorothy Akwuruoha, assured that the women would continue to support Eze Obasi and the elders of the community in protecting their rich cultural heritage. She also thanked everyone who graced the Mbomuzo Festival.

The highpoint of the festival was a vibrant cultural dance display by the Umuosocha Women Assembly.
