The Member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief Collins Ugochukwu Iheonunekwu, has congratulated the State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, and indeed all Abians as they mark the 34th anniversary of the creation of Abia State.

ABIA @ 34: Hon. Iheonunekwu Salutes Abians, Says Abia is on the Path of Steady Progress

In a release through the office of his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, the lawmaker used the occasion to pay glowing tributes to the founding fathers of the State for their sacrifices and foresight.

He recalled with nostalgia the journey of the State since its creation 34 years ago, explaining that the emergence of Dr. Alex Otti as Executive Governor in 2023 has succinctly placed Abia on the steady path of rapid development, especially in the areas of provision of basic social amenities, road infrastructure, security, employment, and economic growth.

Ochake, as he is fondly called by his admirers, further used the occasion to call on all Abians, both at home and in the diaspora, to join hands with the present administration towards achieving the original philosophy for which Abia was created.

He noted with joy that the Governor has restored the dignity of Abians, as citizens now enjoy more respect and honor among the comity of states. He attributed this to the intentional and deliberate efforts of Dr. Alex Otti in changing the narrative.

On his midterm scorecard, Ochake thanked his constituents for their unbroken support and solidarity, assuring them that he remains committed to putting smiles on their faces through lawmaking, representation, and oversight. He expressed optimism that he will leave office better than he met it.

He promised to vigorously sustain the various pro-poor programmes he initiated on assumption of office two years ago, aimed at ameliorating the plight of his constituents, especially widows and vulnerable families. He maintained that his resolve to ensure that the ten political wards in Isiala Ngwa North will feel the impact of his signature projects before the expiration of his tenure remains sacrosanct.
