ABIA – The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, has charged journalists in the state to remain steadfast in upholding the highest standards of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

Pastor Ajagba who gave the charge at Government House Umuahia when he received the new state executive of Correspondence Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, described journalists as key partners in the ongoing transformation of the State.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor while reiterating that Governor Alex Otti came into office with a clear mandate to rebrand politics in Abia through transparent leadership, accountability and people-focused governance, emphasized that the Governor remains fully committed to positively transforming the state and changing the negative narratives that once defined its socio-political and economic environment.

He disclosed that the present administration’s giant strides are already visible across all sectors of the state’s economy, reflecting a governance model anchored on integrity and measurable impact.

Pastor Ajagba further commended the journalists for their professional conduct and for consistently reporting developments in the state with accuracy and responsibility and encouraged them to sustain their dedication to truth, objectivity and ethical journalism.

In his speech earlier, the state Chairman of the NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel, Comrade Steve Okoh, applauded Governor Otti for the transformative progress recorded across various sectors since assuming office, adding that the Governor has consistently demonstrated strong leadership capacity and a clear vision for the development of the State.

He explained that the visit was to formally present the new state executive of the Chapel to the Chief of Staff to the Governor and to reaffirm their commitment to partnering with the Governor’s administration while pledging the chapel’s readiness to contribute its professional expertise to the dissemination of accurate information as the state continues on its developmental trajectory.
