ABIA – The Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has commended the founders of the Joseph and Sinach Egbu Foundation, Pastor Joseph Egbu and his wife, an internationally renowned gospel artiste, Mrs. Sinach Egbu, for their sustained commitment to humanitarian service and giving back to society.

Governor Otti who gave the commendation at the Abia State College of Health Management Sciences, Aba, during the 2025 Aba Free Medical Outreach, sponsored by Pastor and Mrs Joseph Egbu, lauded the founders for their selfless investment in the health and wellbeing of Abians.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, while describing the outreach as a clear demonstration of compassion, faith in action and responsible citizenship, noted that God blesses individuals not merely for personal comfort but to enable them become blessings to others.
The State Chief Executive stressed that initiatives such as the Joseph and Sinach Egbu Foundation’s medical outreach align with his administration’s people-centred governance philosophy, pointing out that he runs a foundation that supports the payment of tuition fees for tertiary institution students, as part of efforts to reduce the financial burden on parents and guardians.
He further disclosed that his administration remains committed to prioritising healthcare delivery, education and social welfare, while partnering with individuals and organisations that share similar developmental values.
In their separate remarks, the founders of the Joseph and Sinach Egbu Foundation, Pastor Joseph and Mrs. Sinach Egbu, explained that the free medical outreach was born out of a deep passion to give back to society, provide quality medical support to Abians and complement government efforts in improving access to healthcare, especially for the indigent.

They disclosed that the foundation has remained consistent with the outreach over the years, noting that the 2025 edition featured over 50 medical doctors and 60 nurses, who attended to thousands of beneficiaries including patients whose conditions required surgical interventions.
Also speaking, the Medical Adviser to the Foundation, Dr. Nwala and the Coordinator of the Free Medical Outreach, Mrs. Joyce Nwaogu, disclosed that more than 21 surgeries have been successfully carried out courtesy of the outreach at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Umuahia, at no cost, free eye examinations, distribution of medical glasses, blood pressure checks and the provision of general medications.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Melody Ikechukwu appreciated Pastor Joseph and Mrs. Sinach Egbu for their kindness, describing the outreach as life-saving and a rare show of genuine love for humanity.

The Mayor of Aba South LGA, Hon. Obilor Anyanwu, the wife of the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mrs Arinola Ajagba, community leaders, health professionals were present during the free medical outreach.
