UMUAHIA – Governor Alex Otti has commended the outgoing Commissioner of Police in Abia State, Mr Danladi Isa, following his promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), describing his tenure as one marked by outstanding leadership, professionalism and unwavering commitment to the security of the state.
Speaking during a sendforth ceremony organised by the Abia State Police Command in Umuahia, Governor Otti said AIG Isa’s leadership strengthened collaboration between the state government and security agencies, contributing immensely to the peaceful atmosphere currently enjoyed across Abia.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, the Governor described the promotion as well-deserved and a testament to the officer’s discipline, dedication and exceptional service.
He noted that his administration had enjoyed tremendous cooperation from the Police Command and other security agencies, adding that the synergy had played a critical role in safeguarding lives and property throughout the state.
Governor Otti further stated that Abia had undergone remarkable transformation since the inception of his administration, attributing the progress to God’s grace, purposeful leadership and the unwavering support of security agencies.
He observed that the state, once perceived negatively in some quarters, had emerged as one of the most peaceful in the country, recording within three years significant achievements that had eluded previous administrations for over two decades.
The Governor thanked the outgoing Police Commissioner for his accessibility, dedication and exemplary service, assuring the newly promoted AIG of the appreciation and goodwill of the Abia State Government and its people while wishing him continued success in his new assignment.
In his response, AIG Danladi Isa expressed gratitude to the officers and men of the Abia State Police Command, the State Government and the people of Abia for the cooperation and support extended to him throughout his tenure.
He said the Command’s successes in combating crime and maintaining law and order were made possible through teamwork, professionalism and the collective commitment of all security stakeholders.
The newly promoted AIG also commended Governor Otti for his sustained support to security agencies through the provision of logistics, operational assistance and a conducive working environment, which he said significantly enhanced policing and improved security across the state.
He further applauded officers and men of the Command for their dedication, courage and sacrifices in the discharge of their duties, urging them to remain disciplined, professional and steadfast in protecting lives and property while giving maximum support to his successor.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Navy Commander MacDonald Ubah (Rtd), and other distinguished personalities attended the ceremony.
