Abia State Government has inaugurated the Umuahia South LGA Command of the Abia State Community Policing and Vigilante ASCP, with a charge on the officers and Men of the outfit to continue to uphold the highest level of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at Umuahia South LGA Council headquarters Apumiri Ubakala, the Special Adviser to Abia State Governor on Security Matters, Navy Commander MacDonald Ubah RTD, warned them against acts capable of bringing a bad name to the outfit.
Navy Commander Ubah RTD while describing security as the bedrock of development of any society, disclosed that the Dr Alex Otti led administration in the state is fully committed to making Abia a safe Haven for both local and foreign investors as well as ensure adequate protection of lives and property of the citizens.
He further stressed the need for them to continue partnering with other security agencies in the state, support the Mayor of Umuahia South LGA in riding the rural communities of criminal elements while assuring them of government’s support.
In his Speech, the Mayor of Umuahia South LGA, Engr. Chinedu Enwereuzo while congratulating the ASCP on the successful Inauguration of the Command in the Council, reminded them that their core objective is to ensure that rural communities in the LGA remains secured and promised to provide a conducive environment to enable them function effectively.
In their Remarks, the State Commander, Abia State Community Policing and Vigilante, Apostle Daniel Iheadindueme, the Chairman of the Occasion, Nze Chikaobi Amaugo and the Chairman of Ubakala Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Cyril Ucheaga, appreciated Governor Alex Otti for his sustained support to the security outfit and called on the officers to be vigilant and compliment the Governor’s efforts in the security sector.
Responding, the Commander, Abia State Community Policing and Vigilante, Umuahia South Command, Mr Raymond Amuzie, thanked the State Government, the Mayor of Umuahia South LGA and the state Commander of ASCP for the Inauguration and pledged their commitment to improving the security in the council.
