Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti has commended Abia Youths for showcasing their innate potentials at the 2025 Civic Connect Hackathon organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Economy.
Receiving the State Champions at the Executive Council Chambers Government House, Governor Otti urged the Government Team to continue creating such platforms where innovation is not only encouraged but celebrated.
Governor Otti directed the Commissioner for Science and Technology and the Chief Information Officer of the State to work with the Hackathon Champions to integrate elements of their innovative solutions into the State’s Comprehensive ICT Solution Platform under development.
Earlier in his speech, the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr. David Kalu said that the Civic Connect Hackathon is an initiative of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Economy and the Ministry of Science and Technology to encourage creativity and unlock the hidden brilliance and talents of Abia Youths, challenging and supporting their growth to become the future of ICT Innovation.
Highlights were demonstrations of the App Solutions developed by the three Teams to the Governor and other Government Officials.
