The Abia State Government has directed all mechanics and auto spare parts dealers currently operating along School/Clifford Road, Hospital Road, Jubilee Road, and Azikiwe Road within Aba North, Aba South, and Obingwa Local Government Areas to relocate to the newly developed Ovom Industrial Mechanic Cluster, Ogbor Hill, on or before 15th October 2025.
According to a statement issued by the Honourable Commissioner for Industry and SMEs, the directive follows the expiration of the one-year grace period earlier granted to the dealers at their own request, which elapsed in May 2025.
The Government explained that the relocation is part of ongoing efforts to decongest Aba metropolis, enhance urban order, and promote a safer, cleaner, and more business-friendly environment conducive to growth and development.
Dealers are therefore strongly advised to comply with this directive before the deadline, as enforcement exercises will commence immediately thereafter.
