The Abia State Ministry of Tertiary Education is organising the 1st Abia State Tertiary Institution Games, which the sports-loving Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, approved.

The games that aim to enhance sporting activities in our tertiary institutions, helping our youths/students to excel in life through sports, will be competed among all private and public institutions in Abia State.
This tertiary institution’s game is the brainchild of the Hon. Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Prof. Uche Eme-Uche, who, in her wisdom, saw the need to engage students in these games to help promote teamwork, communication, and social skills.
Addressing members of the Central Organising Committee (COC) in the boardroom of the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Umuahia, during their inaugural meeting, the Chairman of the COC, Dr. Emeka Enyiazu, Special Adviser to the Governor on Tertiary Education, stated that the Committee was carefully formed to ensure the successful and smooth hosting of the Games.
