In a bold move to empower the youth and promote self-reliance, the member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Ugochukwu Collins Iheonunekwu (OCHAKE), has officially declared open the registration for a one-month Solar Power Training Program for the youths of his constituency.

The initiative, which aligns with OCHAKE’s commitment to capacity building and human capital development, is designed to equip young people with practical skills in solar energy installation and maintenance, skills that will enable them to become self-employed and active contributors to economic growth.

OCHAKE Launches Solar Energy Training Program for Isiala Ngwa North Youths

According to Hon. Iheonunekwu, registration for the program will be conducted strictly online and will remain open for three weeks. Every indigene of Isiala Ngwa North is eligible to apply, and the training will take place at the Women Development Hall, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Council.

To ensure fairness and equal opportunity across all wards in the constituency, participation has been capped at 10 applicants per ward. Once a ward’s quota is filled, the registration portal will automatically close for that ward. The lawmaker therefore advised interested applicants to register early to secure their spots.

The training is scheduled to commence in November and will run through the first week of December 2025. Hon. Iheonunekwu expressed optimism that the program would not only reduce youth unemployment but also contribute to the promotion of renewable energy solutions within the constituency.

“I wish all applicants the very best,” OCHAKE stated, assuring that further details regarding the program’s implementation will be communicated in due course.

This initiative adds to Hon. Iheonunekwu’s growing list of youth-focused interventions aimed at driving sustainable development in Isiala Ngwa North.
