
The Honourable Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Abia State, Hon. Matthew Ekwuribe, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of renowned Abia-born Nollywood actor and entertainer, Mr. Alex Ekudo of Arochukwu Local Government Are.
In a condolence message to the bereaved family, Hon. Ekwuribe noted that the late Alex Ekudo was a gifted actor, creative personality and humanitarian whose contributions to the growth of the Nigerian entertainment industry earned him admiration and respect across the country and beyond. He stated that the deceased distinguished himself through his outstanding artistic works, humility, dedication to his craft and his passion for inspiring younger generations.
The Commissioner lamented that Mr. Ekudo passed away at a time when his talents, influence and humanitarian services were still impacting lives and opening new opportunities for young people who looked up to him as a role model in the creative industry. According to him, the late actor’s life and achievements remain a shining testimony that determination, hard work and creativity can elevate individuals from humble beginnings to national recognition.
Hon. Ekwuribe further commended the family, friends and associates of the deceased for the love, support and care shown to him during his period of illness, noting that their unwavering commitment reflected the deep bond and affection they shared with him. He prayed that God grants the family the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss, while also asking the Almighty to comfort his fans, colleagues and all those whose lives were touched by his exceptional personality.
The Honourable Commissioner further urged the creative community, to uphold and preserve the legacy of excellence, resilience and service exemplified by the late Alex Ekudo, stressing that though his voice may now be silent, his works, memories and impact on the entertainment industry will continue to inspire generations yet unborn.
