ABIA – Governor Alex Otti says his administration is focused on building a prosperous, inclusive and development-driven state where every community has a sense of belonging and opportunities to thrive.

Governor Otti who disclosed this in Aba during the ₦500 million launch and fundraising for the acquisition of land and building of a Heritage Centre by the Association of Isiala Ngwa Sons and Daughters in Aba, reiterated that his government remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote unity, cultural preservation and community development.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, while describing the proposed Heritage Centre as a noble and visionary project that would serve as a rallying point for Isiala Ngwa people, preserve their rich cultural heritage and strengthen the bond among sons and daughters of the area, maintained that community-driven development efforts complement government’s agenda of fostering social cohesion and sustainable growth across the state.

The State Chief Executive further called on the group to intensify the mobilization of more Isiala Ngwa indigenes into the association in order to strengthen its membership base, harness the collective potential of its people and accelerate the realization of its developmental aspirations and also pledged his support towards the successful execution of the project.

In his welcome address earlier, the President General of the Association of Isiala Ngwa Sons and Daughters, Elder Uchendu Ahuruonye, said the association was conceived by a group of visionary individuals from Isiala Ngwa extraction who are committed to fostering unity, promoting cultural values and advancing the socio-economic development of Ngwa land, hence the need to build a Heritage Centre that would serve as a permanent home for the association and a symbol of the people’s identity and collective aspirations.

Elder Ahuruonye also used the opportunity to applaud Governor Otti for his transformational leadership and remarkable strides across all sectors of the state economy, noting that the Governor has restored confidence in governance through his people-oriented policies and infrastructural revolution and also assured him of the association’s continued support and partnership in the task of building a greater Abia.

Gov Otti Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Development, Supports Isiala Ngwa Heritage Centre Project

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Investment Promotions and Public-Private Partnership, Chief Green Amakwe, accompanied the Governor’s representative to the event.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, later paid a courtesy visit to one of the renowned traditional rulers in Ngwa land, HRM, Eze Love Wogu, at his palace, where they discussed issues bordering on community development, infrastructural renewal and the welfare of the people.

Pastor Ajagba reiterated Governor Alex Otti’s commitment to extending the dividends of good governance to every part of the State, noting that the administration remains focused on improving critical infrastructure in both urban and rural communities to enhance socio-economic growth and improve the quality of life of the people.

The Chief of Staff assured the royal father that the State Government had taken note of the condition of the access road leading to his palace and pledged that the road would be given a facelift as part of ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure across the State. He maintained that Governor Otti’s administration is determined to address genuine infrastructural needs of communities and ensure that no area is left behind in the State’s development agenda.

Responding, HRM, Eze Love Wogu, commended Governor Alex Otti for the remarkable strides recorded by his administration in road construction, governance reforms and the provision of critical infrastructure across the State. The monarch offered prayers for the Governor, asking God to grant him wisdom, divine protection, sound health and greater strength to successfully accomplish his vision for a new and prosperous Abia. He expressed confidence in the Governor’s leadership and assured him of the continued support and prayers of his people.
