The Abia State Government is to set up security post at the Railway axis of Umuwaya Road, Umuahia to check indiscriminate dumping of waste and scrap materials.
The Deputy General Manager, ASEPA, Umuahia Zone, Mr. Ambrose Jonah who disclosed this when he mobilized Personnel of the Agency on Christmas day to clear the area of scraps, warned that government will no longer tolerate activities that defaces the area.
The Deputy General, ASEPA, Umuahia Zone, advised people to ensure that they dump refuse at the appropriate places as they celebrate Christmas season and beyond.
He reiterates that the present administration will not renege in its determination to ensure that Abia remain clean at all time.
Mr. Jonah while enumerating the giant strides of the present administration in the area of waste management, pointed out that the citizens must support government efforts by ensuring that they maintain clean environment at all times.
