The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has advised Corps Members to avoid drug abuse in order to shield themselves from its damaging effects.

Mr. Moses Oleghe, the NYSC Coordinator in Rivers State, made this statement during a sensitization program at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Nowa Tai.
The event, organized by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in partnership with NYSC, aims to raise awareness among Corps Members about the importance of participating in the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA).
Mr. Oleghe disclosed that NDLEA officials and camp personnel led the Corps Members in a rally to mark the conclusion of the agency’s sensitization lectures at the camp.
Expressing concern over the rising issue of drug abuse in society, Mr. Oleghe encouraged Corps Members to take the lead in the fight against this problem, rather than falling prey to it.
He urged them to stay free from drugs, work diligently, and collaborate with other stakeholders in contributing to national development, rather than allowing themselves to succumb to mental health issues that could disrupt family peace and harmony.
