The timeless adage “health is wealth” underscores the fundamental truth that a healthy individual is indeed a fortunate one.

When one loses their health, all else becomes inconsequential. Good health is likened to a crown that only the unwell can perceive, emphasizing its critical importance.

In the context of a developing nation like Nigeria, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, accessing quality medical care, and securing sufficient nutrition has become increasingly challenging due to prevailing economic hardships.

Unfortunately, numerous individuals have succumbed to preventable conditions due to a lack of financial resources or a distrust in conventional medicine.

It is against this backdrop that the Ntigha in North America (NiNA), a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering unity and enhancing the welfare of its members and the broader Ntigha community, has taken a commendable initiative to engage in societal benevolence.

NiNA’s commitment to ensuring that vulnerable populations, particularly those in rural areas, receive the medical attention they require is truly laudable.

The organization’s inaugural health outreach in April 2022 benefited many underprivileged members of the Ntigha community in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, demonstrating its potential for positive impact.

Building on this success, NiNA is now preparing for the second phase of its medical outreach, scheduled for Thursday, April 24th through Saturday April 26th, 2025 at the Ailice Chikezie Memorial Hospital, Umuogele Ntigha, Isiala Ngwa North LGA in Abia State.

During this upcoming outreach, NiNA aims to provide between 2,000 to 3,000 Rapid Medical Evaluations, facilitated by a team of qualified doctors and healthcare professionals.

The areas of health concern to be addressed include surgical services, on-site wound care, dental hygiene, medication dispensing and prescriptions, eye care including the provision of eyeglasses, and management of hypertension.

With investments exceeding 300 million Naira allocated for medications, medical devices, and logistical support, NiNA’s efforts demonstrate a significant commitment to ensuring a seamless and effective medical outreach. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the organization’s leaders and members for their substantial support and dedication.

Indeed, the Igbo proverb “Onye nwere madu ka onye nwere ego” highlights the value of community and cooperation, underscoring the importance of collective efforts in improving the welfare of individuals and communities.

To God be the glory for guiding and empowering NiNA to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many.
