The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, has called on all eligible Abians to take advantage of the ongoing nationwide voter registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Abians Charged to Obtain their PVCs as Voter Registration Continues

Pastor Ajagba who made the call at Okpuala Ngwa, the Isiala Ngwa North LGA Council Headquarters, during an enlarged stakeholders meeting, described the PVC as the most vital tool for effective participation in the nation’s democratic process.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor while describing the PVC as not merely a document but the power of every citizen to decide the leadership and direction of the nation through the ballot, urged all who have attained the voting age, those who have misplaced their voters cards or changed their residence to visit the nearest registration centers to register, update their information, or collect their PVCs.

He further appealed to community leaders, youth organizations, faith-based groups and the media to intensify sensitization campaigns and mobilization drives within their localities.

In his speech earlier, the Member representing Isiala Ngwa North and Isiala Ngwa South Federal Constituency, Chief Ginger Onwusibe, noted that broad participation in the exercise would ensure inclusiveness and fairness in future elections, while also deepening public confidence in the electoral system.

He further stressed the need to decentralize registration points across LGAs, schools and community centers in order to bring the process closer to the people.

The Mayor of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Ambassador Innocent Uruakpa, the Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Mr Matthew Ekwuribe, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture, Dr Chris Enweremadu, Chief Ncheta Elvis Omerekpe among other stakeholders from Isiala Ngwa North LGA were present during the meeting.
