ABIA – Governor Alex Otti has commended the purposeful leadership of the president Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Senator John Azuta-Mbata.

Governor Otti who was speaking when he received the National executive committee, Ohanaeze Ndigbo in his Office at Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South Local government area, noted that the new leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo under Senator Mbata has not disappointed the people.
On the condition of Igbo traders in Lagos, Governor Otti said that he had a meeting with his colleague, the Governor of Lagos state on the safety of Igbo businessmen, stressing that he assured him of the safety of Ndigbo and their businesses.
Governor Otti assured that he would always support the Apex Igbo Socio-cultural Organization and informed them of his efforts in renovating the state Secretariat of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and offsetting years of rent arrears owed by the Organization.
He congratulated them on the Ohanaeze national Secretariat that is nearing completion and assured that he would be part of the Commissioning and applauded them for the draft constitution that will soon be approved.
The President General Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Senator John Azuta-Mbata, represented by the Deputy President General, Dr Okey Nwadinobi, said that the visit was to thank the Governor for changing the narratives in Governance thereby restoring the dignity of Abians.
He described the Governor’s policies in the Education, Health, road infrastructure among others as second to none, and outlined some of the programmes lined up by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo to include, constituting a Seven-Professor Committee that will ensure that Igbo language does not go into extinction.
The Ohaneze Ndigbo President thanked Governor Otti for his support to the Organisation, and called on the South East Governors to strive to make the Region safer and habitable to enable young Igbo Entrepreneurs bring home their businesses and be part of the region’s development trajectory.

The Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, among other distinguished personalities were present during the visit.
