ABIA – Governor Alex Otti has condoled the Ijeri family of Amaugba Village, Umuala Nsulu, in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area over the death of their matriarch, Ezinne Mercy Adanma Ijeri.
In his condolence message delivered during the funeral service held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Umuala Nsulu, Governor Otti described death as the inevitable end for all mortals.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, the Governor described the passing of Ezinne Ijeri as a great loss to her family, community, and all who benefited from her kindness. He, however, thanked God for blessing the deceased with longevity, good health, and a life of fulfilment.

Governor Otti noted that the late Ezinne Ijeri was a loving mother to her children and grandchildren, a devoted Christian, and a woman of exemplary character whose love for God, leadership, and generosity endeared her to everyone who came in contact with her.

He urged the bereaved family, particularly Sir Andrew Ijeri, to take solace in the fact that their mother lived a long, impactful, and fulfilled life, made meaningful contributions to her community, and has gone to rest in the bosom of the Lord.
Delivering the homily, the guest preacher from Port Harcourt, Very Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Benjamin, reminded the congregation that what truly matters is not the length of one’s life but the impact made while alive. He urged everyone to live righteously and leave behind a worthy legacy.

In separate tributes, some of the deceased’s children, including Pastor Jude Ijeri and Sir Andrew Ijeri, described their late mother as a loving, caring, hardworking, and God-fearing woman.

They expressed gratitude to Governor Otti, the Church, family members, friends, and all those who stood by them during their time of grief.

Late Ezinne Mercy Adanma Ijeri, who died at the age of 96, is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other relatives.
The funeral service, which featured prayers for the bereaved family, was attended by several distinguished personalities.
