The 2024/2025 Amasaa Ntigha Unity Cup Competition, sponsored by the Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Mr Matthew Ekwuruibe has ended with All Stars of Avor FC defeating Egbelu FC by 2-1 to lift the trophy.
Speaking during the finals of the match held at Group School, Eziama Ntigha in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu described the tournament as key to building up the youths, creating a sense of community and discovering young talents.
Prince Kanu while commending his counterpart and sponsor of the tournament, Mr Ekwuruibe for using the platform to engender in the youths the sense of purpose and focus, also lauded the organizers and officials for being professional and fair to both teams during the competition.
In an interview, the sponsor of the 2024/2025 Amasaa Ntigha Unity Cup Competition and Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Mr Matthew Ekwuruibe explained that there are plans to upscale the winners by enrolling them into Abia Warriors FC or Enyimba FC in other to sharpen and maximize the talents that are in Amasaa Ntigha.
Mr Ekwuruibe applauded the players for making the tournament worthwhile as well as for approaching the game with the spirit of sportsmanship, and advised them not to relent but continue to develop their God given football skills.
The event which attracted the presence of the member representing Isiala Ngwa North and Isiala Ngwa South Federal Constituency, Chief Ginger Onwusibe, the Mayor of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Ambassador Innocent Uruakpa among other notable personalities also featured the handing over of cash awards to the Highest Goal Scorer, Best Player, Best Goal Keeper and the presentation of ₦450,000 to All Stars of Avor FC for winning the competition, ₦300,000 to Egbelu FC as second runner-up, and ₦200,000 to Ntigha Okpuala FC who came third.
