A One-day sensitization Campaign organized by the National Orientation Agency, NOA, has ended with a charge on Religious Leaders, Traditional Rulers and other relevant Stakeholders to amplify their voices against Get Rich Quick Syndrome among other practices that negate peace in the nation.

The event which had in attendance, stakeholders, including Traditional Rulers, Security Agents, Youths and parents, afforded the Agency, the opportunity to enlighten the people on the negative impact of get rich quick syndrome, human rights abuse, insecurity, among others.

Addressing the participants, the Director General, National Orientation Agency, Mallam Issa Lanre, called for collective efforts of stakeholders to put an end to get rich quick syndrome, especially among youths.

Mallam Lanre who was represented by the Director, Public Enlightenment, Abuja, Mrs. Theresa Maduekwe, emphasized the need for all Nigerians to embrace integrity and hardwork in line with the National values for peace and even development of the nation.

He maintained that security remains top agenda of the present administration led by President Bola Tinubu as evident to the investment the administration has made in area of security and stressed the need for all hands to be on deck to check the insecurity in the country.

Mallam Lanre while enumerating various programs the present administration has initiated to enhance the living standards of the youths and Nigerians in general, disclosed that a frame work has been strengthened to tackle incidences of human Rights abuse, Gender Based Violence even as he enjoined Nigerians so ascertain their HIV status and avoid practices that could expose them to HIV/AIDS.

Speaking, the State Director, National Orientation Agency, Mrs. Regina Iroha, maintained that the Agency has the mandate of educating Nigerians on Government Programmes and policies especially feedback to Government, pointing out that the progress of the nation requires the decent contributions of all citizens.

In their speeches, the Chairman, Umuahia South Local Government Area, Mr. Chinedu Enwereuzo and Chairman, Umuahia South Council of Ndieze, Eze Chidi Onyemachi, described the awareness campaign as imperative and lauded NOA for the event, while urging all to avoid practices that are inimical to the development of the state and Nation.

In their Goodwill messages, the representatives of the Brigade Commander, Nigeria Army, Ohafia, Lieutenant E. E. Ukum, representative of Divisional Police officer, Apumiri Police Station, Ubakala, Kenneth Emeka, Deputy Comptroller of Immigration, L. O. Amadi and that of Civil Defence, stressed the need for all to support security agencies and be security conscious as well as avoid acts capable of undermining peace and tranquility in the nation.
