Governor Alex Otti, has called on Nsulu Labour Party stakeholders to prioritize unity, inclusive leadership and collective action as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.
Governor Otti who made the call at Umuomainta Women’s Development Centre Nbawsi in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, during the Nsulu Labour Party Stakeholders Summit with the theme, “Sustaining the Transformation: A United Labour Party in Nsulu for 2027 and Beyond”, identified peace and unity as essential for sustainable development.
The Governor represented by the Vice National Chairman of the Labour Party, South-East Zone, Hon. Ishmael Onuoha, while urging party stakeholders to remain actively involved in the affairs of the party, stressed the need for the leadership to align with the collective aspirations of the people and work together towards achieving the party’s objectives.
The State Chief Executive further called for inclusive participation in the party’s decision-making processes, respect for genuine leaders of the party, as well as encouraged the party stakeholders to sustain the spirit of unity beyond the meeting and work towards the overall success of the party in the coming elections.
Also speaking, the political leader of Nsulu bloc and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, while describing Nsulu as a great political bloc blessed with prominent and influential people, expressed optimism that their collective efforts would strengthen the Labour Party in the area in support of the Governor and other labour party candidates in the state.
In his remarks, the State Chairman of the Labour Party, Hon. Peter Azubuike, harped on the need for Nsulu leaders to collaborate with their counterparts in other political blocs in Isiala Ngwa North ahead of the forthcoming elections, and to sustain the ongoing transformations in the area rather than allowing opposition politics to distract them.
In their goodwill messages, the state coordinator of Abia Arise, Mazi Nkem Okoro, Dr Chris Ugwumadu, Elder G.O.C Nnaji, the Umuomainta Nbawsi women leader, Mrs Esther Mbuko among others, described the Governor Otti led administration’s investment in Nsulu, especially the ongoing development of the Abia airport as one of the biggest investments in the State.
They stressed the need for unity of purpose to enable them secure an overwhelming victory for the party in the next year’s general elections.
The stakeholders further commended Governor Alex Otti for appointing their son and seasoned administrator, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, as his Chief of Staff, assuring the Governor of their continued support and loyalty, while pledging to mobilise their people and work collectively towards the consolidation of the administration’s achievements and the party’s success in the 2027 elections.
Highlight of the summit was the election and inauguration of New executive of Nsulu Labour Party Stakeholders Forum while a commissioner in the Abia state House of Assembly Service commission, Chief Iheoma Ezechinyere, Counselor representing Isiala Nsulu Ward 3 in the Isiala Ngwa North Legislative Council, Hon. Chinyere Obidiah, among other notable stakeholders were present during the summit.
