More than Two Hundred and Fifty indigenes of Afarata Ibeku in Umuahia North Local Government Area have benefited from the free medical outreach courtesy of the Traditional Ruler of Afarata Ibeku, Eze Felix Onwukwe.

The free medical outreach which was held at the All Saints Methodist Church Nigeria, Mbom-Afarata Ibeku, saw the health personnels perform fasting blood sugar test, check on blood pressure as well as Administration of free drugs on the people.
Speaking with our correspondent, the facilitator and Traditional Ruler of Afarata Ibeku, Eze Felix Onwukwe said the free medical outreach was part of activities marking his two years on the throne as many rural dwellers cannot afford the high cost of medical bills in the prevailing economic hardship.
Eze Onwukwe however thanked one of his subjects who resides in the United States of America, Apostle Jumah Ibeagbazi for supporting the Programme and for building, equipping and donating an event centre with digital library department to the community.
The Traditional Ruler used the opportunity to call on the state government to assist them in road rehabilitation, renovation of their schools and health center, fixing of their faulty electricity, provision of portable water and patrol vehicle for improved security in the area.
Also speaking, the Traditional Prime Minister of Afarata Ibeku, Chief Ugochukwu Ndubuka, said aside the free medical outreach other activities lined up for the anniversary was a thanksgiving Service held last Sunday in addition to the one year memorial service of his mother, late Mrs. Margaret Onwukwe.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Modaly Event Centre, Apostle Jumah Ibeagbazi commended Eze Felix Onwukwe for his determination to develop their community which he has continued to demonstrate in many ways.
Apostle Ibeagbazi said the gesture of Eze Onwukwe spurred him and his wife to build the event centre which has a digital library, adding that the library has provision for twenty-four hours solar powered panel, internet and other modern facilities including computers in line with the 21st century demands.
Responding, some of the beneficiaries of the free medical outreach including Mr. Daniel Ahamefula from Umueze-Agwu and Mrs Ngozi Ndife commended Eze Onwukwe for the gesture and prayed God to bless the Royal Father and his family.
