Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti has identified thanksgiving as key to attracting more sustainable blessings from God.

Governor Otti who disclosed this at the Church of Good Shepherd, Anglican Communion, Ikot-Ekpene road, Ehimiri Umuahia, during the Baptism and dedication of Master Chetanna Ezra Uche-Ikonne, son of Dr Chikezie Uche-Ikonne, noted that appreciating God for His gifts and returning to dedicate same to God, preserves and opens multiple doors of blessings.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, explained that the gift of a child remains one of the most divine blessings a family can receive from God, pointing out that he came to join the Ikonnes in appreciating God for the bountiful blessing and to pray God for the protection, guidance, and fulfillment of the destiny of Master Ikonne.

He explained that his administration believes strongly in the power of family, faith, and community, adding that such moments reaffirm their collective responsibility to raise children in the fear and knowledge of God.

The State Chief Executive further stressed the need for all to commit to raising children who will grow into responsible citizens, equipped to contribute meaningfully to their communities and to the development of the state and nation at large and congratulated Dr Chikezie Uche-Ikonne and his wife on the safe arrival of their son.

In a homily titled, “God has been looking for you,” the Anglican Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr Geoffrey Ibeabuchi, disclosed that it is not the intention of God for any to go astray hence the need for all to reconcile themselves back to God in order to gain eternity.

Speaking on behalf of his family, Dr Chikezie Uche-Ikonne appreciated God for his mercies, grace and blessings upon his family as well as thanked all that came to celebrate with his family.
