The Chairman, Abia State Independent Electoral Commission ABSIEC, Prof. George Chima has tasked Electoral Officers of the 17 LGA’s of the state to work in line with the policy direction of Governor Alex Otti towards the new Abia project.

ABSIEC Chairman Meets with EO's, Tasks them on Punctuality, Regularity to Work

Professor Chima gave the task in a meeting with the Acting Director in-charge of Administration, Mrs Erinma Chimbo Cecilia and the 17 LGA’s Electoral Officers EO’s under the commission held at the Commission’s Headquarters, Ogurube layout Umuahia, Abia state.

The ABSIEC Boss while also urging the EO’s to give maximum support to the Acting Director in-charge of Administration, Mrs Erinma Chimbo Cecilia, called for punctuality and regularity to work among staff of the Commission both at the local government Areas and the Headquarters and thanked the newly retired Director of Administration, The Rev’d Geoffrey Madugba for his years of service to the commission.

He noted that regularity and punctuality to work are strategic towards achieving a productive workforce, adding that the Governor, Dr Alex Otti is very intentional in his development template for the state.

The ABSIEC Chairman further used the forum to also urge the EO’s to convey the outcome of the meeting to their staff at various local government Areas.

According to Professor Chima “The EO’s at the local government level have a lot of work on their shoulders, they are by the outcome of the meeting requested to be alive to their duties”

“You are also requested to give the Acting Director, in-charge of Administration, Mrs Erinma Chimbo Cecilia the needed support and solidarity to perform well in the new task ahead of her,” Prof.Chima stated.

Responding, the Electoral Officer’s who spoke through their Chairman, Mrs Chinyere Ogbonna, congratulated the Acting Director in-charge of Administration, Mrs Erinma Chimbo Cecilia on her new position and promised that the EO’s will give her the needed support to succeed.

The EO’s assured that they will also work in line with the policy framework of the Commission with a view to improving on and sustaining public confidence.
