The Member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Collins Ugochukwu Iheonunekwu, popularly known as OCHAKE, has once again demonstrated his commitment to the educational advancement of his constituency and to the broader vision of Governor Alex Otti’s administration.
The lawmaker made this evident through the donation of a 3.5KVA inverter to St. Anthony Comprehensive Secondary School, Nbawsi, a project that has drawn commendation from both the school community and stakeholders in the education sector.
The thoughtful intervention was in response to a specific appeal made by the school’s principal during one of Hon. Iheonunekwu’s earlier sensitization visits to the institution. The school had a set of computers in its library but lacked a reliable power source to operate them effectively.
Rather than providing a generator, which would have imposed an ongoing financial burden due to fuel and maintenance costs, the lawmaker opted for a sustainable energy solution – a solar-powered inverter system capable of providing stable and cost-effective electricity for academic use.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Hon. Iheonunekwu reaffirmed his dedication to promoting quality education and digital literacy across Isiala Ngwa North, pointing out that the donation was part of his ongoing efforts to bridge infrastructural gaps in schools and empower students with the tools necessary for academic excellence in an increasingly technology-driven world.
The State Lawmaker further emphasized that education remains the most powerful weapon for transforming society, promising to continue supporting projects that align with Governor Otti’s education reform agenda.
The Principal of the school, staff, and students expressed deep gratitude to the lawmaker for his responsiveness and visionary approach. They lauded his decision to provide a long-term solution that would not only enhance learning efficiency but also reduce operational costs for the school.
