ABIA – Governor Alex Otti, has condoled with the Nwulu family and the people of Ikenna Umuode Nsulu Autonomous Community in Isiala Ngwa North LGA over the death of their patriarch and traditional ruler, Eze Ferguson Chimka Nwulu.

In his condolence message during a funeral service conducted by the Anglican Church at the Community Primary School Field, Umuode Nsulu, Governor Otti described the passing of Eze Nwulu, the first traditional ruler of Ikenna Umuode Nsulu, as the end of an era defined by visionary leadership, selflessness and uncommon commitment to the progress of his people.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, noted that the transition of Eze Nwulu at a glorious age marked the conclusion of a remarkable reign that spanned 28 years, during which the monarch led with wisdom, dignity and a deep sense of responsibility.
The State Chief Executive described the late traditional ruler as a stabilizing force who upheld peace, unity and cultural values, while providing moral and traditional leadership that strengthened the social fabric of the community.

He further highlighted the monarch’s instrumental role in initiating and supporting transformative projects including rural electrification, water supply schemes and other community-driven interventions that improved the quality of life of the people, adding that such achievements reflected the late Eze’s foresight and genuine concern for the welfare of his subjects.
In a homily, Venerable Martin Ubani of the Anglican Church described the late Eze Ferguson Nwulu as a fulfilled man who lived a life of service, humility and faith in God. He reminded all that leadership is a trust from God and urged them to emulate the virtues of integrity, selflessness and community service exemplified by the departed monarch.
In his tribute, the first son of the deceased, Prince Chukwudubem Nwulu, while describing his late father as a devoted father, leader and mentor whose life was dedicated to the service of God and humanity, appreciated Governor Otti, the State Government, the Church, traditional rulers and all well-wishers for their support and solidarity.

Aged 92, Late Eze Ferguson Chimka Nwulu is survived by children, grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

The funeral service which featured prayers for the bereaved royal family, condolence messages also attracted the presence of the Member representing Isiala Ngwa North and Isiala Ngwa South Federal Constituency, Hon. Chief Ginger Onwusibe, the Mayor of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Ambassador Innocent Uruakpa, Rt. Hon Uzo Azubuike (former member that represented Aba North and Aba South Federal Constituency), Chief Dr Eric Opah (President General, Oha Nsulu Unity Forum), traditional rulers, the Anglican Bishop of Isiala Ngwa, Rt. Rev. Temple Nwaogu, Council of Knights among other distinguished personalities.
