ABIA – Governor Alex Otti, has charged Christians to imbibe the spirit of thanksgiving at all times, in order to attract more blessings from God.

Governor Otti, who gave the charge at St. George’s Anglican Cathedral, Nbawsi, in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area during the 10th Year Consecration, 60th Birthday Anniversary and Survival Thanksgiving of the Bishop of Isiala Ngwa Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Temple Nwaogu, stressed the need for believers to continually acknowledge God’s goodness despite challenges, emphasizing that thanksgiving remains a powerful expression of trust and total dependence on God.
The Governor, represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, enjoined Christians to remain steadfast in faith, uphold righteousness and promote peace and unity within their communities, adding that God honours those who live in gratitude and humility while serving humanity selflessly.
The State Chief Executive further congratulated Bishop Nwaogu on his triple celebration and prayed God to grant him greater wisdom, sound health and renewed strength to continue shepherding God’s people and advancing the work of the Church.
In their opening remarks, the Chairman on the occasion, Sir Emeka Anaba and the Co-Chairman, Dr. Amaechi Nwogbe, described the celebrant as a devoted servant of God whose leadership has positively impacted both the Church and society, commending his commitment to spiritual growth, peace building and community development.
In a homily titled “Praise the Lord, O My Soul,” Ven. Prof. Udo Obioma identified praise and thanksgiving as key instruments for attracting and unlocking multiple blessings from God, urging Christians to cultivate a lifestyle of gratitude regardless of circumstances.
In his testimony, the celebrant and Anglican Bishop of Isiala Ngwa Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Temple Nwaogu, expressed gratitude to God for sustaining his life and ministry over the years, recounting divine protection, grace and support received throughout his episcopal journey while appreciating family members, Governor Otti, the clergy and well-wishers for their prayers and encouragement.
The ceremony, which featured prayers for the celebrant and his family, cutting of cake and goodwill messages, also attracted the presence of the Mayor of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Ambassador Innocent Uruakpa, the Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Chief Matthew Ekwuribe, members of the clergy, traditional rulers and other distinguished personalities.
