The State Commander of the Abia State Community Policing and Vigilante Service, Apostle Daniel Iheadindueme, has dismissed claims of division within the agency, affirming that its leadership and operations remain unified and firmly established.

Apostle Iheadindueme made this known during an enlarged meeting with Local Government Area (LGA) Commanders and Unit Heads at the State Command headquarters in Umuahia. He stressed that the agency would continue to collaborate closely with the Nigerian Police Force and other security agencies to combat insecurity and criminal activities across the state.

Describing the Community Policing and Vigilante Service as the “watchdog at the grassroots,” the Commander urged the personnel to continue to support the administration of Governor Dr. Alex Otti in safeguarding lives and property, especially in rural communities.
He expressed satisfaction with the agency’s impact since its inception, noting that incidents of crime and insecurity have significantly declined across Abia State.

The Commander reminded them that they operate under the authority and payroll of the Abia state government, cautioning them against being used by individuals or groups seeking to destabilize the state. He emphasized the need for discipline, professionalism, and loyalty.

Apostle Iheadindueme further called on members of the agency to foster unity, peace, and harmony among themselves, while discouraging acts of internal rivalry and divisive tendencies.

He commended LGA Commanders, Unit Heads, and other personnel for their dedication and sacrifices in maintaining peace and security in their respective areas of assignment, assuring them of continued support from the command.

The State Commander also urged operatives to ensure comprehensive security coverage across their jurisdictions and maintain cordial relationships with traditional rulers, whom he described as critical stakeholders in community policing efforts.
He further appealed to the state government and well-meaning individuals to support the agency with more operational vehicles, materials, and modern security gadgets to enhance its effectiveness.

The meeting also featured the inauguration of new Commanders and their deputies for Ohafia, Ugwunagbo and Aba South LGAs.

The GM/CEO, Abia State Homeland Security, Col. Chidi Kalu Ukoha (Rtd.) was present during the meeting.
